I could sit and write a long review of this movie, an Incredible person who in half a century of life did such incredible things. A strategist who's battlefield tactics are widely admired still today.Ridley Scott was very brave to take on a life story of such a famous, iconic person from history. There are so many angles you could pitch a story from about such a person and you will certainly be criticised for what ever story you decide on, but I think the result is very good and pheonix is also very good too.

A really great drama, in an age where you thought that good, intriguing spy type dramas were a thing of the past, then this comes along. Slow horses has great characters and an amazing cast. I cant think of a series that has had me remembering the next date so avidly. If you like john Le carre books and good drama this will absorb you.Gary Oldman is fantastic as the clever and grotesque lead character he is quite brilliant, but it is hard to choose one individual character or actor as they are all exceptional

Paul Simon exceeded his usual songwriting with this album. With the help of many South African musicians and backing singers. Amazing pices of music along with very relevant and well worked lyrics. I do not think he will ever do a piece of work this good again. Some great bass and guitar playing, with superb drums and percussion. Love the mixture of western and African styles on this album.some great brass section work too. Just a fantastic piece of work. If you are lucky enough to own very good turntable and system it is impossible not to enjoy this album great music, some tracks deserve more recognition too.

The cold war was such a life and death untrusting time in history. How these secret spies and agents woke up every morning and not knowing if a double agent had told the other side their names or locations, and betrayed them. Soldiers in uniforms are revered and regarded heroes for what they do these secret agents put their lives at risk for years and are barely known.John LeCarre served and knew of the tangled existence of many of these people who served in Mi6. Very good story following tinker, tailor, soldier. A cool head such as portrayed by the superb Alec Guinness is a great character to base this story around.The cast is truly fantastic many now unfortunately dead Michael Lonsdale and many others you will recognise.if you love LeCarre's work this BBC production is very clever and unwinds gradually and builds to a great finish. The hard work a perseverance of George Smiley is worth watching until the very end. As well as many of these great actors in this production no longer being with us any longer John LeCarre has also passed on too. A great author who will be forever missed.

Terrific cast and production, a great effort a putting all of the story in to one movie. These secret service people could be killed on any given day but still had a job to do. The cold war was such a commitment for the countries involved, it became 'THE' priority for decades. The 70's is very well captured and the whole feel of the movie is very good. The devastation a mole could create in such an organisation, is incredible. Just look at the lives Kim Philby cost. A great effort and made me long for more Le Carre stories again. Many of the reviewers who do not appreciate the production, acting, feel of this movie, will be people addicted to ridiculous special effects, irrelevant story lines and a total non appreciation of history in their movies. If stories based on factual times and historical events interest you. Then you will be able to understand and appreciate this story, dangerous and scary times for those involved. Excellently produced and acted.
