I KNOW THIS IS LONG BUT IF YOU’RE DECIDING TO BUY THIS GAME PLEASE READ THIS! Ok I’ve never written a review for a game before but I needed to for this one. I’ve played every assassins creed before this one and before I explain the 3 stars I want to say that the story is great and it’s probably one of the best stories so far, it has a rich diversity of quest and stories that make this game’s story a masterpiece, so if you’re like me and prefer the story I would say it’s worth buying. However almost every else in the game is either has an awful system of doing things or it’s just straight up glitchy. All games glitch but this one seems to have glitch every time you turn the corner especially when it comes to animals and light. But the worst of all and the main reason I’m writing this, is the combat, is absolutely awful and only get worse with progression in the game. It’s completely unbalanced meaning everything is either way to easy or way to hard. The normal open world combat is mostly fine it’s just different from the original games, it’s like Origins and Odyssey but worse where instead of all the enemies lining up around you so you can fight them in cool manner like in the original games like III and Black Flag, all the enemies crowd around you and hit you at once. The combat isn’t fun or satisfying anymore there’s no cool cut scenes really, it’s just very bland, repetitive and either way too easy or way too hard. But the worse of all is the boss fights, THIS ISNT ASSASSINS CREED ANYMORE ITS A SHADOW OF WAR RIP OFF, it has similar controls to For Honor and instead of having bosses that you have to sneak in someplace place in assassinate aligning with the original assassin‘s creed games in the original purpose of the games they have a stealth assassination game that can be considered a slightly accurate historical fiction game. Instead now assassin‘s creed‘s are sadly Fantasy games you either fight giants with giant weapons that chase you around and shoot giant icicles at you or are you fight teleporting gods that you can’t even hit. The combat and boss fights are especially saddening to me I love these games I loved how they were a stealth assassination game based around a point in history and showing historical events but mixing with their own creative storyline and the combat was fun, challenging, and satisfying. Now these games are shows other former selves they have a great story but the actual gameplay makes me wanna uninstall. If you like assassins creed for the stealth game play this isn’t a game for you but if you enjoy the story I would still highly recommend it because you can always put it on easy. Edit: I just finished the game and I have to say that I am blown away by the story, it is by far one of the best in the ac line up. On the other hand the combat is still clunky and disjointed. If this game had the same story but had the same combat system as 3 or Black Flag it would be amazing.
