I’m a kid, a 5th grader, particularly, and I read this for school and I just finished an essay on it at school yesterday. I loved this book so much and I think Louis Sachar is wonderful, clever and humorous author. I love his writing of this book and clever language that helped me visualize what it would be like to actually be digging five-foot, 5-inch wide holes everyday at Camp Green Lake myself, along with Caveman (Stanley), X-Ray (Rex), Zigzag (Ricky), Squid (Alan), Twitch (Brian), Armpit (Theodore), Magnet (Jose) and Zero (Hector). Sachar’s clever writing helped me visualize the story, and I felt like I was deeply engulfed it it while my teacher was reading it to my class. I loved this beautiful book so much and I kind of feel (and felt) like this was a quite cute little story indeed. I loved Sachar’s writing here (I also have the Wayside School books and so I’m a big fan of his writing there, too) (and I always still will indeed, I truly love his writing all the time!)
