This is grandiose risk-taking cinema. It could be pompous or conceited or it could be genius. However, it is luminous and beautiful; a finely crafted meditation on the zeitgeist. This highly metaphoric drama touches upon themes which we all recognise, regardless of the labels we choose for them. Modernity, nature, capitalism, power, hubris... This film doesn't pander or spoon-feed. Some may find this complexity too challenging to unravel whilst other will really enjoy the oblique opacity and the opportunities for personal interpretation. I loved it. Cool and interesting. Definitely worth looking at.
