I was quite disappointed particularly given the authors positive you tube reviews, and obvious knowledge of ancient Greek and the Classical World. First, the quality of writing was that of a 14 year old. The sentence structure was poor, and adversely affected the way ideas were communicated. Dr.Hillman's view of Christian history is disturbing to any reader, particularly in regard to the reasons why the Church sodomised young boys; and that Christ himself was the originator. The most perplexing problem for me was how I could juxtaposition lessons at Sunday school of Christs teaching with paedophilia and child prostitution. The gap seemed a chasm. I will not recommend it as currently written. It needs a good edit.

Poor piece of writing. Penguin have done a great job promoting this drivel, eg the surving author being interviewed by a brilliant ex finance minister, and economist Varoufakis. But the authors stray into areas they know little about, eg primate research, theory of mind and their so called "thought experiments" were naive and ill thought through.
