Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever but I felt that the storyline was unlikely … His match to that particular girl was a poor fit… it was far more convincing when it was Eva Green’s Vesper. I was even disappointed in Ralph Fiennes M character …it was weak(?!) which was a shock to me as Fiennes is such an outstanding actor and the character ‘M’ has always been tough and solid . The silly little take off about Q and his relationship frustrations was just inappropriate and stupid. I was not convinced in the story at all …it just did not fit into the whole Bond character. I get it that Craig should be the last bond and that they needed to kill him off, fine …I get that…but the whole fall in love with somebody uncharacteristic and have a child as his lifetime fulfillment was not convincing. This was a man who was driven for justice…a zealot. Everything else would be secondary. He really should have been given in a task where it was unwinnable and that he went to an extent far beyond everybody’s expectations and still died as a result that would’ve been a much more convincing story. I think Eva Green should’ve been left as his love of his life that was far more appropriate. And part of the Bond tragedy. I think a brilliant ending would’ve been that his Will required him to be buried beside Vesper. That would be the only inkling of sentiment that he would show…And will the bulldog to Moneypenny.
