Confusing leaps between times, made story fragmented and difficult to follow at tones. Crucial parts of story played down others extended. Short sequences or vignettes meant that as soon as any one story got going you would find yourself unwillingly transported into another place / time and with different characters. Grossly over hyped . Best thing was photography and costumes. And Meryl Streep!
