*spoilers ahead*
This is probably one of the worst movies I have watched in a very long time. The director tries to make this movie simple and realistic. However, the lack of character development, cringeworthy dialogue and abrupt ending makes feel upset that I lost two hours of my time to this. From the beginning of the movie, the behavior of the characters and lack of feel and chemistry between them disinterested me. Moreover, the writing was extremely bad an it made me hate both the main characters, which was clearly not intended. As I forced myself to watch more, I realized that all the characters in this movie were stagnant. You would think after going through such hardships, the main character—Dia— would learn from it and change, yet none of he characters had an even slightly interesting character arc. This along with the plain acting made me feel very disconnected to the characters. Towards the end, even with the flamboyant acting of Adi’s character. His character lacked impact and did not make me feel anything for him. His cringeworthy dialogues made me laugh more than the actual punchlines of the joke. The ending of this movie showed me just how much of a waste it was. Adi being hit with the train was a plot twist, but it made the ending abrupt. It was meant to have an impact but just like his mom’s death it did not make me feel anything other than anger for the poor execution of the ending. The movie La La Land, is a perfect example of a tragic ending, and this movie contradicted all the amazing details that should be present when trying to make a good tragic ending. The lack of impact throughout the movie showcased really disappointed me, and truly wasted my time.
