Conspiracism, concern-trolling, sealioning, and blatant transphobia make for a poor read.
Joyce lays out a conspiracy theory that involves big business, including big tech and pharma, billionaire-funded activists, and academia. She never successfully proves such an outlandish idea.
Joyce plays up the bizarre double standard of transwomen being predators who seek to invade women's prisons, bathrooms, and sports while portraying transmen as misguided girls. She makes several points and doesn't elaborate on them, or says she will elaborate on it ten chapters later (a writing choice I strongly dislike). She consistently conflates sex with gender, claiming that transgender people claim to be a member of the sex they identify with, a claim that would make any trans person cringe.
To trans people (and transwomen in particular), this book makes for a painful and hurtful read.
