Pariyerum Perumal: A piognant portrayal of the inconvenient truth. A hard hitting reality poetically concocted. This movie doesn't bother to play the blame game nor does it show mercy in giving a lucid account of it's narrative. Do spare this movie if catharsis is what you are looking for. Pariyan, the protagonist is someone you will root for instantly, not necessarily out of sympathy ; but out of your fervour for social justice. The opening credits with the message "caste and religion are against humanity" gives you a good enough idea of how this movie will turnout. But the movie has outperformed every viewer's expectation. To everyone one who fails to see or choses not to see how the caste system is still lurking in the society this movie is the answer. And atleast here you don't have to search for it. Though subtle the director has aptly depicted what prejudice is disguised as in this "modern" world. And if you fail to see it then you might as well realise which side you are on.Karuppi is the eloquent metaphor that will be etched in your conscience. Out of the world performance by Kathir, G Marimuthu, Yogi Babu is definitely the cherry on top. Kathir is definitely a priceless discovery. All aboard an emotional rollercoaster with the actors portrayal of a young man's conflicts and search for Identity. Pariyan's father and mother are a reminder of how difficult it is to empower someone after being conditioned to opression. The sound score and lyrics makes your goosebumps last longer. A big shout out to the cinematography team for capturing the emotions to perfection. The closing scene with the two glasses is worth a million words. This is not just another movie, it's a milestone in Tamil cinema.
