Giving this review in the true spirit of need for good cinematography. From the maker of Singham and Chennai Express, the expectation was obviously high. Unfortunately even with least expectation one would have been thoroughly disappointed. The film was making an attempt to reflect Ramayan in today's era. But the execution was the worst possible it could have been. Storytelling was pathetic, even a rookie might have done a better job. Focus was on grandeur not on the storytelling which showed and severely impacted the viewing experience. Another telling blow was poor casting for various roles. But nothing worse than portraying a strong Ram's army and poor Ravan's army where neither Kumbhakaran or Meghnad or any other key warriors were depicted. The end was the worse, even the little momentum that had been carried through to the end was wasted as the Ravan's end was nothing short of a crude joke. We expect far better than this Rohit Shetty, please make better films. We don't need a huge star cast but a good storyline, story telling, and positive messaging. Saw Jyoti Deshpande as a co-producer, not sure if it was her influence that made this the worst Rohit Shetty movie ever, after the sick Stree 2 movie, it's hard to think otherwise.

READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW TILL THE END, THERE IS A KEY MESSAGE. AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY I DEDUCT 1 STAR, IDEALLY I SHOULD DEDUCT MORE BUT JUST FOR THE IMPORTANT MESSAGE CONVEYED I DON'T. Good film, can definitely watch, much better than useless drama movies. Deducting one star because they have just dragged the movie unnecessarily. And the biggesr flaw is how is someone filming a kid in washroom is not even questioned, forget about punishing. If someone is masturbating in a closed toilet, then that's private thing, nobody should come to know in the first place. If someone does gets in his privacy then whose fault is it? Who is committing the biggest sin here? Anyways moving aheas after all the dragging when Yami / Kamini says that how will you teach sex education, I think that at least was high time to close it. Because simply put that statement concludes that she agrees that sex education should be there in school. The question remains then how, which is a different matter altogether. The case was won there itself. There are many other such instances where the movie defies logic and simply drags on pointlessly. This takes away the purity and good intent that should have been maintained. Henceforth, do keep this in mind, people will appreciate that much more and movie will be more successful commercially as well for producers.

Might be realistic showing struggles of a lower middle class married woman in a Mumbai chawl, but it's been dragged for 2 hours. Not much to depict in the story and then the songs are just unnecessary and outright boring. And again it's a movie where people keep taking law in their own hands even when police is shown to be more than welcoming in taking appropriate action. Definitively should not encourage such behaviour and make such movies as it misguides people and encourages crime.

Story is interesting but the film is a big drag. Could have been covered in 30-45 mins. Had to fast forward it at many places without losing anything. There is no drama towards the end, which is good, but lacks the punch too. Songs are pathetic, not sure why so and what was the need, it jus spoils the flow. There is unnecessary cleavage show of the lead role throughout the film even after she has left the dance bar. Male actor needs come acting lessons, tries to copy SRK from the word go and lacks impact. All other actors did a good job. Could have been way better had it been edited and presented better. And end should have been more impactful. These few things made all the difference between a 5 star and 2 star rating.
