So I watched Pariyerum Perumal.. I was completely blown off by the movie. Scenes were so well woven with so much depth and meaning. Right from the dog to the last dialogue everything was raw and real. The intensity with which some scenes hit you is immense. The fact that the whole movie revolved around caste issues and Identity crisis was so well presented without naming names or blaming any one person or creating the usual sympathetic feeling towards the main hero character.
Recently I had seen a video on how we are empathetic when a car has a "baby on board" or "L" sign on it, But we fail to realise how each and every one of us is going through a relentless inner turmoil in some or the other part of our lives. We don't need signs to show each other some Empathy...This movie, I felt really touched upon things that were so relatable even if you feel you have not been discriminated against. Just how the character stood up for himself, his confused and conflicting view of his father, how it changes and his acceptance of himself was beautifully taken. There aren't explicit dialogues about everything he is feeling but nuances and shots that captured a lot.
After a long time, a really intense, unpredictable and deeply impactful movie. Please go watch!
