Extremely stylish with some masterful grim-dark cinematography, and there is some excellent acting amongst the handful of characters who were allowed to have a personality. (The Penguin is a highlight; he should get his own film.) Unfortunately, Pattison has been directed into a stupor, a melting statue of whispering angst. This works quite well in the suit, making this the most omnibus Batman to date, but not at all out if it. Bruce Wayne is an empty shell, as is most of the film's dialog. And unfortunately Gordon and others get the same treatment.
The film does not need to be as long as it is, and the entire audience had fallen into that Battison stupor, with much sighing and checking of watches, by the end.
