Insulting to its audience, packed full of tech product placement, no understanding of the themes of either HG Wells' writing nor the modern ones they try to introduce. The acting is fine, but you can't just throw good actors at a bad script and expect it to work. The plan they devise in the final act was so stupid it made me viscerally angry. It's not even fun to watch as a silly bad movie or a hate watch. It's just bad. It doesn't deserve to be taking up space on data servers. Soulless, hollow, ugly and completely infected with shallow tech nonsense. Even Tesla tech bros deserve better than this.

Dumb fun monster film; references to other (better) movies are everywhere and it hits most of the silly monster film beats you want for bad movie night, but it has higher aspirations that it misses by a mile. Weird character choices and one character in particular had a nonsense set up that made no sense with the pay off (but the pay off itself was actually cool), but the monster was neat and a lot of practical effects were used which I love.
