The undisputed number one attraction of this series is the gorgeous island of Paxoi. Papakaliatis has always been full of himself and this is no exception. I will ignore comments by puritanical Americans regarding the love affair between the maestro and Klelia and just focus on the bombastic utterances ,supposedly deeply philosophical thoughts so typical of similar Greek series. Unfortunately the many fine actors in the series are victims of this. I feel bad about Maria Kavogianni and the revelation, the number one Greek chanteuse Haris Alexiou ,who give this series its only credibility.

As a film produced by EOT ( Hellenic Tourism Board) , which it was not, this film would be a winner . Fabulous scenery , superb beaches ( even nudist) clubs that go until the early hours of the morning, when Americans are used to going home around midnight , superb food . However as I mentioned earlier this wad not a promotional spot but a film with so many weaknesses. One very glaring flaw: the wrong usage of places . They come out of Venizelos Airport in Athens and they can see all of Athens before their very eyes. Athens is well over 30km away. Then on the way to get the boat they go through the downtown core of the city which is a total lie. By the looks of the harbour from where they leave for Crete, the place must be Rafina ( which I very much doubt that it has connections to their destination) and is right next to the airport, which means there was no need for the tour. Then there's this thing with the illegal immigrants, the Syrians. I can very well vouch for the fact that the vast majority of Greeks do not like these people whom they see as intruders , if not invaders with a hidden agenda.The film of course , anxiously trying to promote woke culture and so-called diversity presents them as welcome by Greeks , even allowing them to wear that characteristic Arab cloth around their necks at the so-called wedding . By the way this wedding "in the air" might be accepted by naive Americans but to a Greek such a thing ( no priest or even a mayor performing a civil ceremony) would be absolutely laughable . Furtermore , it is obvious that none of the "Greek" characters in the film can actually speak Greek , with the exception of Toula whose Greek is deplorable, however. It seems ridiculous that Ian, an educated man a,fter being married into a Greek family for over 20 years can only utter ευχαριστώ in an awful accent when my husband of 2 years , a poor Brazilian with very basic education, can say a lot more phrases and more accurately too.Finally this whole business of trying to locate 3 old men in a country of 10 million with nothing to go by is utterly ridiculous. To sum up : as a tourist promotion the film is just great .As a movie , it is pitiful.
