Me and my wife binge watched this TV show. As usual like any other TV show, the first few seasons are awesome but by the time you come into the last seasons, you are emotionally attached with the characters and you are hooked :) Liked some of action stunt sequences of Root and Sameen. Some interesting twists come in the way and you will like that a former bad guy will become friends with the good guys. (more than one occasion).

Overall, a very good movie after a long time. Here are the plus and minus about the movie. Disclaimer: Some plot and script revealed. Plus: - Amazing Script that would’ve made this film a hit irrespective of anything - Small time actors / junior artists given more importance - The think tank proved that a Heroine-less movie could be made for the Tamizh audience. This audacity by the think tank needs a big applause. They simply pulled it off. Minus: - Screenplay is a little adrift from pragmatism. There are at least two or three places where some over dramatic things like Karthi having suffered multiple stone blows and 2-3 stabbings going onto to further fight for another 10 mins into the movie made me want to bang my head against a wall and sympathize with the Tamizh audience. Another instance of screenplay amiss is - Why did they stop at the school and why did they change vehicle when the screenplay was moving like a roller coaster until then? - Karthi and Naren could’ve been used better. When compared to his Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, this is much lesser in terms of his performance. He didn’t know what to do or act in at least 2-3 places like the last scene where he sees his daughter for first time. - Dialogues could’ve been better. Say, when Karthi explains how he chose to save Naren’s life. - Why would the drug mafia want an automatic gun like that imported? - More screenplay issues - Karthi’s past not explained or justified as to why or how he became like how he is right now.(2) Karthi’s explanation of his 10 years in jail and how it changed him could’ve been explained well beyond him turning to spiritual route. (3) Given the social media age, CRPF reinforcements could’ve been obtained by Narain within 4 hours as portrayed in the movie OR officers from crime could’ve been routed to law n order OR to the commissioner office. (4) Why did Ajaz come back after sending the mission accomplished message. To die? - Finally, the title Kaithi - Does it justify Karthi, an ex-con OR Adaikalam the main villain. If the justification is about Adaikalam, then a more strong role should’ve been given to the villain. He was just shouting at people from inside the prison cell and didn’t have anything else to do. If it’s about Karthi, then he is no longer Kaithi or convict as he is an Ex-con.
