Julia Fulcher

Quite slow- moving, could hardly be called a 'thriller'. It portrays the narrow, isolated and brain-washed community, who abuse the young people with their religious obsessions, and demands that everyone slavishly believes what the elders believe. In many ways it didn't ring true, there was very little teenage rebellion, it seemed manufactured and contrived.

I found it very sad. But I missed the first 50 minutes. Maybe she was happier living on her own with her grandson.

It shows the stiff upper lip of the time, but falsely makes Fawcett into a hero, rather than a man who was never really satisfied with what he had (family and success). A film about a cold, unlikeable character, chasing after the unattainable.
