Utter Garbage. You need to Study spectrum to get the over view of Modern history and actually cut through questions. Those above reviews are fake reviews. I have now read both. This book is basically sicular play book written to glorify Congress.
History written here isn't history, but justification of one against other mostly for anti-hindus, Muslims and Congress. They have cleverly left out many reasons for many unjust revolts like Moplah revolt and first ever communal riot of India that is Kolkata riot at the time of Khilafat movement started unilaterally by muslims for Hindus not doing much, many don't find even the mentions like Riots by Hindus of Bihar at the time of patition, or Razakar atrocities toward local Muslims or moments in Goa. They will mention Hindu movements, their cause and effect but they won't mention any thing about islamic movements or riots of the time. It's their way of being secular ๐
even when writing history of India that many generations will recite and formulate policies keeping the history in the mind. Many times in exams, you will go with full confidence that you know most of the things that they may ask, but most of the time, you will find youself guessing the answer even after reading the book twice. The kind of confidence that you are looking for can come to you only by reading spectrum. It is also grossly binded. On the whole, it's a very biased history, written with substandered logic that you can hear from cheap politicians, with many holes and uncovered topics, and a feeling of emptiness even after you read it twice. Not to mention that pages will start coming off by the time you reach the middle of the book. Don't get hurt, it's a review, my review.
