Wooden acting, too many shots of faces staring off or moping with little dialogue, not enough character development. Could have been great and wasn't.

A bunch of twittering nitwits. Why do we want to listen to this inanity? It is a shame that this is, culturally, where we come from.

Bad acting, bad dialogue, hackneyed characters. Banks solves the language in a few days, figures out the Chinese general's wife's dying words, figures out the mahjong thing...really? And Sudan? The whole movie is shots of Adams' face with the same expression coupled with shots of the sky and the smoky words of the aliens. And the leading characters somehow manage to become smitten with each other despite no meaningful dialogue. Ian Donnelly's lines are pretty much limited to, "How are you?" and "Are you okay?" This movie was bad.
