It's a trip down memeory lane for me. I was also 12 in 1959 and I can identify strongly with the child actors in the film. Haley is brilliant in the part and shows a natural flare for acting. Dockside landscape is familiar as I was born in Plymouth with fishing boats and the Royal Navy warships coming and going. The story, although predictable is made better for Haley's presence in it.
