I use this book with both my primary teacher students and have also recommended it to my primary teacher colleagues and friends. Both I and they find it very user-friendly in how it marries key concepts and theories with practical examples and case studies from primary classroom settings. It is extremely well-written and consistently upholds the relevance and importance of geography as a subject in developing 21st century skills and competencies and in enabling children to become active, engaged and informed citizens. I highly recommend it to both teachers and teacher educators alike. I would also strongly advise policy-makers to read it to attain an understanding of the power of geography education and its true value.
