For sure a must watch movie in Tamil Cinema.
A very beautifully directed movie. The cast has been excellent with their roles. Watching a movie for 160 minutes is pretty hard these days, but not once did I feel like it was stretching. The time passed so gracefully with a great excitement as to what would happen next.
The movie itself was targeted at the ignorance and brutality of the police system in general. It does show that where there are people brutal in the system, there are also righteous people at the same time (which was the main difference between this movie and Visaranai). The dialogues and script were on point.
Prakash Raj's character doesn't argue that he is righteous at all times like many movies where there is a clash with the police, he does point out that he too has done some brutal acts while he deemed necessary, but his character had a very nice shade of grey.
Suriya was excellent in the character of Chandru. A mass entertainer like him has ventured gracefully into a character that is very on point. He has delivered a movie where there is no large portrayal of romance, unnecessary songs or even fight sequences. Even with him having played many times the role of a cop, this time he has gone against it.
Lastly, Lijomol Jose the main protagonist of the movie was the best of the cast. Her performance really makes us feel the sentiment in every scene. It makes us sympathize with the character.
