If there is any show that has the potential to get a ratings higher that Breaking Bad or GoT, it's Dark. With a run of 3 seasons, it's a show that doesn't overdo its story. Many shows have a plans for a number of seasons and once they get good ratings they try to push the story forward without a necessity. Hopefully, Dark will not do that. With a story so interconnected that keeping track of characters is already a great task, Dark uses the concept of Time travel, and later (spoiler alert) multi worlds to make it even more complex. It's a show that's 33 years ahead of any other.
Reason: The shows usually have a blueprint of a story planned for several seasons, and they go about writing one season at a time, i.e., they build the story of a follow up season based on the reception and progression of story from previous seasons.
In Dark, the story itself is divided into 3 seasons, as if the writers had planned everything from the beginning. With the rules they established in the initial season or the rules thry introduce later there's a very less chance of creating a plot hole.
