Not sure why people gave negative reviews. I loved this movie. Lots of lessons in every song, how to deal with the loss of loved one, how to see through the fog of your own mind, how to see and work through problems differently, not to judge a book by its cover, be wary of greedy people and not be a sucker by sweet talkers, and when you’re at the bottom there’s only one way up. These are important life lessons told in fantastical way. It’s really a solid story with multiple limericks or children’s stories that can be applied to all ages. The same goes for the original. I think many negative reviews are very telling, about the culture of the present. Many adults today have an inability to see the child within. They put up walls to protect themselves from their feelings. Not sure what they were expecting... it’s not a war movie or transformers folks. Too much hate in this world... and Mary Poppins came just in time to get us out of it!
