Good film, genuinely. Slow burn with thriller edge, action and romance. Heaps of credit as a written film and story. 4/5. Good acting, very little swearing was nice and use of a cultural influence. Great insight to cyber world. Technical critique would be filming quality as the slow panning scenes are jittery like the cameras are old & mismatched. One of the cameras has and no motions stabilisers or gyros used in still frames. Slightly sickening shake in many scenes. And choice of shots from the DOP like 2/3’s of a waiters back while in the resturant was an odd choice. Why not from the other side with his front? Countering this; telling a story with only camera shots in action scenes is well done & hard to do to help it make sense. So this is the plus side back on it.

Deserving watch. Has so much rich history, accuracy to Japanese culture infused in every scene. Leto has a way of speaking in this film without speaking. There is a Enough action to keep you interested, Bushido ぶしど and 50’s ganster. The story may be a variation of classic, yet is solid for intensity & not holding back. 4 stars, great if you’re learning Japanese too.
