King James Versions is my first choice bible and I am not one who reads many translated bible versions. However, understanding that this bible is not one to be considered as a translated version, but rather, paraphrased, it is totally acceptable to me. I would recommend reading this book alongside of the King James Version Bible. It is written for the sake of understanding what the KJV is saying helping the reader to understand.
What is most important is reading the Word of God to know and to grasp an understanding of why God is, who God is, and why did he send His Son Jesus Christ to mankind.
Reading The Living Bible or the New Living Translation will answer your questions. However, it takes the Holy Spirit to enlighten us, regardless of what bible version we choose to read.
