After reading the comments, please allow me to say that this NLT is not a translation of the bible, it is only a paraphrased bible that was birthed from The Living Bible. It states that in the origin of this book. It was not designed to attempt to become a version to manipulate anyone, it was written to help break down scriptures in a paraphrased dictation. As Jesus used paraphrases to bring greater understanding of what was lacking for the Jews as well as scribes, Pharisees, and others around, this bible shares information that helps those who are seeking to gain greater knowledge in the Word of God without criticism but to get to know God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

King James Versions is my first choice bible and I am not one who reads many translated bible versions. However, understanding that this bible is not one to be considered as a translated version, but rather, paraphrased, it is totally acceptable to me. I would recommend reading this book alongside of the King James Version Bible. It is written for the sake of understanding what the KJV is saying helping the reader to understand. What is most important is reading the Word of God to know and to grasp an understanding of why God is, who God is, and why did he send His Son Jesus Christ to mankind. Reading The Living Bible or the New Living Translation will answer your questions. However, it takes the Holy Spirit to enlighten us, regardless of what bible version we choose to read.

This was a wonderful children's book. Very true to the story. I appreciate how the author brought to life, real-life situations of how children today are being raised by their grandparents or other guardians who a great deal older than the child they are bringing up. The reality of it, is that not being around their peers, decreases life-lessons and a lack of peer lessons. I really enjoy this book!
