Aside from the griping you are hearing about distance and graphics (both of which are easily understandable given the hardware of the switch and the insane detail in each and every Pokémon in the given zone you are in) This game is easily one of the best Pokémon games ever made. I am 34 years old, and I have played since I received Pokémon Red Christmas eve night in the late 90’s. I have played almost every installment since, and I have genuinely not been this bewildered by Pokémon since that little boy who stayed up until 4am Christmas eve night pushing through Pokémon Red. The catching system, the battle system, mounts, everything is just so fluid and in tune with itself, and increases the pace that Pokémon has needed for decades. Shiny hunting has never been more fun, completing dex entries rewards your effort with better chances of spotting these in the wild; and the glee you experience when you randomly encounter one in the wild is just.. fantastic. If you like Pokémon even a little bit, this game will awe you. It is fantastic from start to finish and I hope is the model for all future games in the franchise.
