I am a big fan of Ken Follett, but this is definitely the worst of his novels that I have read. I almost abandoned it halfway through, but persevered eventually. My main problem with the book is that the different storylines from different parts of the world never fully entwine, especially those concerned with North Africa. The characters and storytelling from that area were much more interesting than those from the USA and definitely China. All in all, not a bad rrad, but pretty disappointing from Follett.

I really didn't get this movie, at all. 2-dimensional characters, particularly the Vietnamese characters. Terrible, and I mean terrible, action sequences with weapons that never need reloading. Flashbacks where the actors appear the same age. Awful music, awful script. Stereotypical portrayal of almost every nation represented,particularly the Vietnamese. Need I go on?
