What can one say, the film speaks for itself. Coral Brown is herself and does not need to act. She is wonderful and to watch the scene of her ripping into the sales assistant of a Jermyn shop, who is disinclined to take an order for Bugess is one of my favourite bits of film ever. The music is so well chosen throughout. Like Burgess, I shed a tear when I watch and listen to the scene in the Orthodox Cathedral. Quite the most excellent film ever. First class, Top marks to all involved.

look out for Dudley Sutton, A masterclass in the portrayal of a dishevelled Soviet Spy: Watch him eating tiny bits of bread, this bear of a man trying to be delicate in the extreme. Trying to be sympathetic, but threatening at the same time. Underpinning the methods of the Soviet State "carrot and stick" Wonderful to watch. Brilliant characterisation by this much missed clever actor.
