Very hard to read at times but I truly enjoyed this book! I know there will be some whites whom will deny a lot of the history in this book. Because it doesn’t fit the narrative they have always and continue to push. All we have to do is look at many of the happenings going on today, it’s clear and evident racism especially systemic racism is alive and well. It’s sad we haven’t come as far as one might’ve thought. Many of the ingrained and indoctrinated teachings of the fallacy of white superiority passed down from generation to generation is a hard cycle to break. Black people are truly resilient when we shouldn't have to be. We’ve accomplished so much even with all the hatred, exploitation (free labor for centuries), oppressive & discriminatory practices, health disparities and so much more. I look forward to a day when the inequalities are far and few. However, I think as long as white people exist we’ll always have some form of racism and discriminatory practices. Great book! I learned a great deal.
