The two highlight for me are 1: the typical alien invasion sci-fi sets up the war still within the scope of human eyes. Some typical scenes are a bunch of space ship landing in an earth city and people shoot bombs at aliens. This book however unfold all possible approaches to fight a war that human can’t even fathom. I love the realism and logical build up in that thinking 2. I also love how this book goes against traditional western philosophy of morality. The western philosophy about individuality is very captain American or Superman in terms of not sacrificing anyone and valuing all individuality. The book however, set up a very intellectual discourse of what’s moral when survival of the entire civilization is the number one pressing issue.
Overall a really nice read that makes you think.
