The Irishman was a long drawn out film with two hours of wasted filler script in the middle.
Was the acting great? No it was good. Di Niro has lost the elasticity of an actor to stretch his voice and mannerisms in order to get into a character. Now he looks and acts like himself in whatever character he plays.
Pacino’s portrayal of Jimmy Hoffa was good enough that he looked like Hoffa enough that his own persona was subdued and one could believe his acting.
Joe Pesci was superb and understated in his acting abilities in this film. His acting was by far the best developed and convincing.
All in all there’s not much else to say. It was no Godfather or Goodfellas nor was it as great as A Bronx Tale. Waste of time and overrated!
