Believe me or not, I knew from the very beginning that it was going to be .... "youknowwho"... did it all. Just don't want to give spoilers so not blabbering it out here. It was obvious from the beginning. Characters looked so naive and so at all prepared for the job... I mean, was the director trying to portray the vulnerability of the protagonist... being a girl, youngest in the group and feeling out of the league! I don't know, too many issues were raised and the protagonist had to many thing going on in her life. The series didn't trill me.

Maidaan is perhaps the first Indian sport biopic which has given so much story time to the sports itself and frankly this is the best thing about this movie. The camera movements showing the game in the movie are so good and unique that you'll feel you are watching a real game. This film not only tells an inspiring story of a great man - S.A. Rahim, but it actually piqued my interest on the game and the players who were part of the football team that represented India in 1962 Asian Games - our unsung & forgotten heroes! I enjoyed each scene of this brilliant film. Like many have rightly put, Ajay Devgan has delivered one of his best performances in Maidaan. The story was crisp and cinematography outstanding, songs soulful and performance of each and every artist was excellent. This is a masterpiece which I should have enjoyed in a theatre. Its sad that there's now days so much media hype about bad movies and shows while such masterpieces like Miadaan goes unnoticed. Kudos to the director Amit Ravindernath Sharma and producers for making such a good film.

When you don't have a good director or a copy writer, the end result is Rocky and Rani ki Prem Kahani. Mr. Johar wanted to revive the old charm of Hindi cinema as it was in 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. So he added kilos of drama, hyperbolic dialogues, hyperventilating scenes of actors and even clad the female lead in Saree! The stellar starcast was the cherry on the top which made the perfect recipe for a brilliant cinematic experience. Instead it became a khichdi that was not appetising at all. The lovestory of elder or younger generation lacked depth and chemistry. Dharmendra had no dialogues, Shabana Azmi was given very little screen time and so was Dharmendra. They were supposed to be pivotal character, moving the storyline forward and being the epitome of true love. But, through out the story Dharmendra is seen mumbling monosyllabic words. The worst treatment was given to the character of Jaya bachchan which remained an enigma till the end. What was her motivation, what made her the person she was, what will be her faith now, all remained untold. As if Karan just wanted to portray Jaya as super bitchy aunty with an innate desire of spoiling other's mood. All in all, this could have been a good movie but in most parts it felt like a cut and copy work from great movies of yesteryear. Great sets, romantic scenes and breathtaking sights of exotic location were novel ideas introduced by cinematic gurus , who added novelty to Hindi movie. I am still waiting to see a work that is equally new and unique in approach as movies like Chandani or DDLJ.
