This musical was fantastic and so sentimental. If you’re a 90s baby this will make you nostalgic but not because it is retelling the same Mathilda story but because it is reminding you of how what was amazing in your childhood can become even greater as you grow up. This movie is emotional because Mathilda’s story is much more meaningful than it was in the original movie. You can truly feel her little heart’s neglect and lack of feeling loved. And Ms. Honey’s actress did an amazing job at fleshing out her character. You can really relate to her if you’ve ever felt as if your life has been challenging and you’ve lost so much in so little time. The students are even more adorable as well. This movie is two thumbs up for me, I definitely recommend it!

This installment had potential. They could’ve made a lot more scary moments in the movie, and the big reveal is a bit confusing. I didn’t understand why the witch decided to do witchcraft? Because her pastor father had an obsession with it? That’s it? The beginning made you think it was going to play from end to start but it isn’t that way and in the middle of the movie we go back to the actual start of how the boy became cursed. It jumps around and forgets about who was involved. David has his demon transitioned into Arne but that’s it, David is a nobody for the rest of the movie. Some two girls become involved and we get an entire scene of Lorraine acting out the murder. Then they’re forgotten. I just wish it was more coherent and scary, it’s more mystery and action. For a trial that was ground breaking, there isn’t a lot of focus on the legal part of what happened in the true story. This movie wants you to just believe in Ed and Lorraine because they love each other, not because they are professional and experienced. It’s not going to make you feel like you wasted time watching it but it is going to leave you disappointed when compared to the previous two movies.

The movie is an OK remake. I did not like Chris Rock as narrator, it feels cheesy, his voice is not fit for a movie that is supposed to be believably creepy. He's great at comedy and animation but not this movie. Also, the scene where the witches come together is a great new twist and definitely feels a lot scarier than the original, but that is really all that stands out from this movie. The ending is corny, wish it wasn't made to be a comedy at the end, like it's trying to be different from the first by not giving it a cliché happy ending. But they still want a happy ending and this ending is trying so hard to be happy... I am sure being turned into a rat and having your entire childhood taken away is not happy at all... Also, it is not believable that he could live to be called "grandpa" and his grandma is still around. Did he have rat babies? Do rats even live that long? It just tries hard to be funny, scary, and kid-friendly all at once and it doesn't mix so well as the first one.

This game is super cute, you will not get over Yarny and the little movements of the character. The puzzles are super fun and swinging is so much fun. The enemies are challenging but I can’t help but feel this rush trying to get Yarny to safety! So much fun, definitely recommend especially with a partner for couch co-op! 👍
