At this time, I will not recommend this game at all for the price that it is set at. It needs some serious work for a game like this to justify this. The optimization is downright disgusting which leads to some serious fps issues on a somewhat good rig. Even at max details and not high fps the game looks somewhat worse then some other games at high settings. And to play it reliably I needed to set everything to low or off and it looks rather meh. I do not know how they tested performance, if they even tested it, because it was rather poor. There is so many bugs I don't even know if there is a QA team working for CD Projeckt Red. Half the time you go to pick up items and you cannot even get a prompt to pick it up. My first blue gun at the beginning of the campaign was laying there taunting me by not being interact-able at all with any position or even after reload. Another example is that for no reason at all the third weapon slot keeps unequipping at any moment in time, even mid fight. This is a minor gripe but tons of basic feature you come to know would be standard are missing. I guess making genitals slider was more important. One of the main gripe that is at least optional so far is the hot garbage that is hand to hand combat. Don't know about melee with weapons as I have not tried but since it is basically the same controls, it might be horrible too. There is a fight club quest that asks you to fight hand to hand some opponents, but the combat is so bad that it creates unreal difficulty. I hope it might be somewhat fixed once the performance gets better. The enemy will sometimes start swinging while you were backing up and miss completely and still hit you, or worse miss but then start a second hit in a combo that makes them no clip slide all the way to you at varying speed making it impossible to counter. They hit me more then one time while block was held, stamina was fulland they did a fast attack that should not have gone through. The UI in this fight keeps appearing and disappearing all the time making it hard to determine if you have health or stamina left. Like I have said, I would seriously recommend against buying this game at full price, at least until they work on it for a long time. This could have been good, but it was so rushed that it is a far cry from how fun it could be.
