Dave Playfair – Google

A light-hearted and purposely silly movie with a twist on a dark classic. The trolls really came out to review this movie with 1 star reviews. I feel like they kinda missed the point and the irony is palpable. Maybe these reviewers should be visited by a ghost or two? This movie certainly isn't Hamilton, nor is it the most clever work this duo has ever done. What it is though is a light-"spirited" movie that is entertaining and positive in its message. What is almost as funny and silly as this movie are some of the 1 star reviews: "This movie is awful. I love Will Farrel and Ryan Renolds," writes one of the trolls. I mean, at least get the names of the actors right... y'know, since you love them n' all. I get that Spirited isn't for everyone, but wow. If you're thinking of seeing the movie, ignore the 1 star reviewers -- they are seriously troubled. ;-)

This is a show with great potential, great characters, great actors and amazing special effects. However, the narrative is pedestrian and a mishmash of political ideology and heroic ideals, with a confusing script. It is certainly better than one star, but by no means is the show in its entirety deserving of four or five stars. I watched it in the hope that it would get better as it progressed, but it just became cheesier and cheesier until the end.

I brought in 2021 watching this show. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but the show certainly is worth watching, if not a bit foreboding. Acting is great and storyline, although somewhat predictable and 24esque, certainly keeps you entertained -- all while the superintelligence wreaks havoc on our world ;-) Fox apparently cancelled it after airing two episodes. Maybe the AI didn't want us to know what it was doing, or Fox executives are brain dead. Speaking of BrainDead, also a great show that was cancelled by CBS. I'm pretty sure the alien bugs in Washington got that one cancelled, but who really knows. It is clear that anything other than complete drivel is cancelled before it can really take off. There are some exceptions, but it makes you think -- anything that is too close to reality seems to be cancelled. It's definitely the superintelligence or aliens, but not sure which. Maybe both. Oh well, 2021 is here now... maybe we'll find out soon.

I summoned my 11 year-old self and managed to get through most of this cliche-ridden martial arts movie. My 11 year-old self really enjoyed the action scenes, not caring about the fact that everything is strewn together in what some would describe as a complete cluster-bomb of a plot and the fight scenes should only appeal to prepubescents with no appreciation for real martial arts. Nothing makes sense, but my 11 year-old self didn’t care one iota. Speaking of Iota, my 48 year-old self decided I should warn others that this movie is as disastrous as the hurricane Iota that just devastated part of Central America. To quote another review as it really sums it up nicely: "Don't watch unless you want something else to hate about 2020." Seriously.
