I can see where this movie falls short. In a 2 hour movie, many important bits of history will be cut out.
However, the final battle and having Joaquin Phoenix added to the positives of the movie.
Maybe a TV show is more suited for a legendary commander of history.

Terrible movie. Plot is poor. Consequences in the movie do not matter when you have plot armour.
Will not be giving more money for future Avatar movies.
