Where do I start? I paid $120 for tickets for myself and my family and another ~$30 for snacks and stuff, and I walked out of the theatre after 35 mins. My family decided to stay back because they thought $120 has to mean something, which they regretted later. People asked me to shut off my brain to enjoy the movie. But, it's not about that, I did shut my brain off and still suffered gravely throughout. If people continue to enjoy these kinda movies, there is no point in watching telugu movies anymore. Allari Naresh movies lo kooda logic undadu, but ila kaadu, idi ok chendalam.

Easily, one of the worst movies of the year! Right from the moment go, one bad scene after another is presented. For eg. Hero rides in the back of a scooter driven by the heroine and stops at a traffic stop, one of the lady car riders who's waiting next, asks the hero on a date " because he's so sportsmanlike " and causes the heroine to feel jealous. The hero goes to a "reputed" archery school ( named "Kurukshetra" , lol , why would anyone name the place that ), where the director of the school says it costs 40 - 50 lacs to get trained there, because it trains people for the next level and right in the next scene, Harsha the comedian is shown as one of the junior coach there, who gets by fooling kids instead of training them appropriately ( which is supposedly the comic relief in this movie ) The much-anticipated makeover ( 8 pack ) from Naga Shaurya feels useless given how the movie was made. There is no mention about how to go about being a great archer, or what even makes one a great archer. There are so many cringe-worthy scenes. If you, like me, enjoy such awful movies, go for it. Otherwise, just skip it, this is not even worth to be watched on OTT.

I got curious about how Vijay Sethupathi's movies are which are made in his native language, Tamil. Having seen him from a Telugu movie and the performance he had given there, I had relatively decent expectations from him. But, I was appalled at the quality of this movie - everything moves at an extremely high pace and goes according to the hero's plans. From the first few scenes, I had assumed that it's going to be a routine formulaic movie. But, it's even worse than that, the message the movie tries to convey gets lost somewhere along the lines. The villain, jagapathi babu's existence is itself comical. I don't know why Sruthi Hassan accepted a role in this movie, she's supposedly a famous "dancer" in this movie. I have heard of famous actors, singers but never heard of a famous "dancers". Vijay Sethupathi looked fat, unkempt throughout the movie and I was surprised to come to know that he's one of the producers for this movie. Overall, I learned my lesson, after having watched 2 back to back awful movies of VS - "always check the reviews first".

This is a wonderful movie, it covers a lot of subjects - motherly love and the sacrifices a mother would make for her child, how a human can suppress dark memories of the past to move on without even remembering them. Kathy Bates is wonderful as the mother and so is Christopher Plummer The movie wouldn't be this good if it weren't for the locations it was set up in - a wonderful "New England" island ( although entirely shot in Canada ).The background music which runs throughout really provides that dull, gloomy but appropriate feel. I hardly can find any faults with this one. 90's is indeed the last known decade for awesome movies.
