It was entertaining but NOWHERE near the level of suspense and sarcasm you expect from Janet Evanovich’s creation. The books make me laugh out loud but also cringe in fear (yeah, I’m a wimp!) and they are sexy and fun. This movie had some potential, I watched it with my kids and they laughed. I kinda liked the characters, but they felt like they were just shadows of the book’s characters. They needed to be MORE: grittier, funnier, meaner, scarier, crazier, weirder. Ramirez in the book was about the scariest guy ever, in the movie he was blehhhh. I LOVE Lula in the book, in the movie I was surprised when she suddenly was endearing - everything moved to quickly and too shallow. This shouldn’t be a movie, Netflix or Hulu should make it into a tv series so the characters can develop. Oh, and what’s with that car from the 70’s??? It’s supposed to be a ‘52! I was so annoyed at that. Anyway, there were some fun moments and good facial expressions, but overall so underwhelming that I can’t recommend it. Read the books, they are awesome!!!!
