Not a player of the game so simply wanted to enjoy a new show. So far so good-I like it. While it’s no second gen BSG, it’s enjoyable. The visuals are sublime as is the animation. I don’t know how close the movie follows the game (it not) and don’t care. The only concern I may have (which I have with most series these days) is the potential for having an overly elongated storyline that could be summed up in an episode or two.

Skip the first 90 minutes and go to the last 30 if you want a decent movie. Paul Rudd was fine but everyone else’s acting was terrible. The young daughter was the worse and went from skeptical scientist to believer to ghost hunter in literally minutes. The son had no skills but could work on and drive a 20-30 year old POS car that sat in a barn for decades (not to mention the gas in the tank and the tires were fine). The mother was almost useless in the storyline. The “jokes” fell mostly flat. The podcast kid was good but reminded me of the Asian kid’s role from The Goonies: stereotypically bad yet good at the same time. If I’d had to pay to see it I would have walked out 30 minutes in and asked for a refund. The ONLY reason why people like it is because it’s GHOSTBUSTERS in name. If that wouldn’t have been the case people would t have like it as much as they claim to like it. Bottom line: if you can’t FWD to the last 30 minutes don’t waste your money.
