Clever, engaging and insightful movie very much of our times. The Texan family, at first patronised, ends up one that makes me envious of the community they share. Really liked this surprising movie.

This beautiful, poignant and morally ambivalent novel is a remarkable achievement. This reader is entering his late seventies and is amazed by the insights such a comparatively young author grants along the way. I have now read all three of Tan Twan Eng’s books (in reverse order of publication, by accident not design) and very much look forward to his next one.

After devouring Series One (a little late to the party) I’m left brimming over with praise for every aspect of this brave, exciting, dramatic, though nuanced, show. The acting more than lives up to the complexities of the script. It’s unpredictable, sometimes melodramatic, at others weirdly hilarious and always bang-on relevant. So looking forward to Series Two.
