Yes it’s a remake. I can see why hard core fans of the original don’t like it. It is different in some places and maybe some extra scenes, and different story lines with some characters. The ending is totally different as well. I liked the original film and also liked the remake. However the chemistry between some of the characters in the original film is not there in the remake, but still enjoyed it thoroughly.
