Really put San Francisco on the map for movie making, you could argue it deserved billing along with the actors. McQueen`s brilliance in the effort is the separation he displays between work and his girlfriend, then realizing, is there any use? A late 60`s masterpiece that has grown in statue.

Hoffman plays a great straight man and the scenery is stunning but again it is Mcqueens minimalist effort that really drives this movie, just never did anything he didn`t have to.

A little maligned over the years, especially by some of it`s creators. Personally I like it more than the original. Very relevant today for obvious reasons, who controls our law enforcement. A great film that saw a Jackboot future.

I think it`s the directors best work, and perhaps some of the actors as well. Just reeks of truth and honesty. Beautifully paced and unpolished. Don`t have to be anywhere near the coast to enjoy this classic.

Master Frankenheimer dazzles us with a before it`s time thriller. Angela Lansbury is truly chilling. Special mention to Henry Silva. Film spent 25yrs on the shelf. Why? Also directed The Bird Man of Alcatraz in the same year. Seriously overlooked.

Really good western series @ the end of that genre. Everyone saw that coming.

Maybe Scott`s best picture. How narrow the gap between good and evil is.Great performance from Richard Boone as the No.1 nasty, whom you can feel empathy for but in the end are happy with what happens. Scott counterpunches beautifully, never throwing the first stone in a performance that ranks this film on the top shelf of westerns. Only Randolph Scott would admit he was scared. That`s why this film is great, long before Eastwood, there was realism in the Western.

An underrated classic. Mitchum against type annoyingly good.
