I watched the Emmett Till "Women of The Movement" movie/documentary with a sense of anger and pride. The anger came from the totally unjust way Emmett was treated and his life so viciously taken as well as the way black people were treated at that time. My sense of pride came from the dignified and determined way Mrs Mamie Till worked to make Emmett's life count and to make it better for other black people who had to live through the deprivation, segregation and dehumanization that black people were subjected to. I was seven years old when the abduction and murder occurred. It had a strong impact on my sense of self worth that I never out grew. This project was very well done. It should be "must viewing" for school children at the middle school and higher levels.
