This was a dope show with the right supernatural elements combined with a simple mystery to make it interesting. It sucks it was only six episodes but I guess I have to wait for season two. This was a pretty good remake for what it was. I liked the character that Tom Cruise played Sofia Boutella's version of the mummy was a lot better than the one we got in the 90s and 00s. Not taking shots I just don't like to see a lot of jokes in monster movies. Other than that I can see the problems with it. But it was something they could have improved on in the sequels. For anyone that is interested, I wrote a book with a similar story. Accept it is more of a supernatural thriller with more of a martial arts twist if anyone is interested in reading it. These are the kind of fantasy movies I like watching. A sword and sorcery movie set in modern times. That has a video game feel to them. For the most part, I thought the story was solid and it had a good setup for a sequel.  If you liked this movie then you will like the book I wrote. I'm not gonna lie I hate scary movies but I saw this anyways and I can't lie it wasn't bad. Don't get me wrong I am not a big fan of remakes but this was pretty good and the acting was good. And there were a few things in it that left me creeped out.Compared to the original trilogy I did like that they went for a more horror vibe vs the campy/ comedy of the originals. I would have been interested to see a sequel to this if they would of made it just to see where they would go. Mostly because of the cameo after the credits and I was curious to see how Ash would have fit into this version of the movie. Some movies just have to be entertaining to watch. Which is what I thought this was the action sequences were good. And the story was easy enough to follow. As a fan of the movies, I can say this wasn't that bad. The story was good and it was a short binge that has me interested in where the story is going in the next season.
