I previously watched the whole series, and I've recently started doing a "repeat viewing." The fact that these episodes are drawn from the experiences of real people, living in NYC, is a big plus - for starters.
The "Modern Love" series includes a whole RANGE of "love," not just the "romantic love" that the title might suggest to some. There are many other cultures that have multiple words for "love:" The Greeks, for example, had SEVEN words for love, that encompass a wide range of positive feeling. In the U.S, we may "love" pizza. We may "love" the fact that we have a "casual Friday" at the office. We may "love" having a closet full of clothes. (Whoops, getting too close to home!) AND yes, we "love" our family & friends, but somehow, "love" seems to gets lost in the shuffle.
Modern Love doesn't attempt to pretty things up or omit scenes where there is disappointment or anger or depression - or even downright angst! It depicts life, AS IT REALLY IS.
"Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final." - Rainer Maria Rilke
