Personally, I think that this film is wonderful - and my favourite thing that David Lynch has ever done. Thousands would disagree, including David Lynch. This film comes on like David Lean having a science fiction fever dream. It takes quite a few liberties with the book and that can be a lot to take for hardcore fans but this a beautifully designed, superbly acted and dreamlike film, the likes that we will probably never see again coming out of Hollywood.
