Absolutely trash movie. It portrayed the prosecuting attorney as someone who sincerely cared about whether the defense was guilty. At one point a cop tells her, โYouโve got the wrong guy. You should really reconsider your case.โ
Every joke written about every lawyer attests to the fact that they largely do not care who is guilty or innocent. They provide the best case they can for whomever theyโre hired by. That is their job. They are literally lawyers.
And the film just kept on with this horrible premise. The cop thought by pleading with this lawyer she would drop or alter the case. Like, what? If you have evidence someone is innocent, go to the police. Very obviously do not go to the prosecuting attorney.
It gets worse because this attorney then begins to invest her very expensive time into investigating whether the defense is actually guilty. I had to turn it off.
Also, why make the two most impulsive and least thoughtful jurors people of color? Seems like a weird choice, but maybe thatโs just me.
