Controller Support Feels Like an Afterthought โ Itโs Ruined Borderlands 4 for Me
I have never been this frustrated with a Borderlands game. Borderlands 4 might have great writing, shooting, and loot, but the interface makes me not even want to play it.
I play on controller, and the cursor system feels like it was made for PC first and then controller support was thrown on as an afterthought. Itโs clunky, slow, and awkward โ like they took a mouse pointer and forced me to drag it around with a thumbstick. Opening my inventory, comparing gear, or navigating menus has gone from something quick and intuitive to something I actively dread.
Borderlands has always been about fast action and snappy looting, but here I spend more time wrestling the cursor than I do actually enjoying the game. It feels like Gearbox forgot that a huge part of their audience plays with a controller โ the system is simply not optimized for it.
I hate to say it, but this has ruined the game for me. Every time I have to open a menu, Iโm reminded how much better this could have felt with a proper controller-friendly UI. Borderlands 4 could have been my favorite entry, but instead Iโm seriously considering dropping it completely because of how bad the interface feels on controller.
