Not worth the hype in my opinion. There are at times some page-turning moments, but I do think this book could have been much shorter. The characters are good, but the story drags quite a bit. This one took me the better part of a year to finish (I put it down a lot)! I found the climax to be pretty lack lustre as well… I’m also not too much of a fan of the jumping back and forth in time he’s used to tell the story. Had me a tad confused at times, like many other people it seems. Overall, I can’t say I’d recommend it. (City of Theives by David Benioff is a better WW2 thriller, and a quicker read imo)
